Is Switzerland the new Crypto-Nation?

Asset ICOs are going to be the major breakthrough.

“Asset tokens represent assets such as participations in real physical underlyings, companies, or earnings streams, or an entitlement to dividends or interest payments. In terms of their economic function, the tokens are analogous to equities, bonds or derivatives.”

“Each case must be decided on its individual merits”

FINMA publishes ICO guidelines

These guidelines may signal that many previously illiquid securities will gain traction to be traded. The first that comes to mind is Real Estate, which is hopelessly illiquid at ~220+ Trillion USD. Allowing mobility is critical in a new age.

The question is how would payment tokens and asset tokens tie in. Payment tokens will not be considered securities under FINMA. And hence, might not be subject to Swiss security law. This is not legal advice.

Switzerland has realized it needs to up it’s game and adopt crypto quickly.
